Degree in hydraulic engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1986; PhD in Sanitary Engineering at Politecnico of Milan in 1990; Researcher in Sanitary-Environmental Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Dept. of Hydraulics, in the period 1991-1998; since 1998 to 2004 she has been Associate Professor and since January 2005 is full professor in Sanitary-Environmental Engineering at the University of Cagliari, Dept. of Geoengineering and Environmental Technologies. Her research program is mainly in the areas of industrial and municipal wastewater treatment with particular attention to nutrient and xenobiotics removal processes, kinetic studies and process modelling and control; and in that one of municipal solid waste treatment and phytoremediation of contaminated sites. Her scientific activity is widely proved by a number of papers, mostly derived from experimental works, on the most important national and international journals of the area, and by many contributions presented at congresses. At present she is vice-dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cagliari.
